Morphology and More with Marcia Henry

Join us for an important learning opportunity!

For almost 60 years, Dr. Marcia Henry has worked in the fields of reading and dyslexia as a tutor, diagnostician, professor, and author. Her book, “Unlocking Literacy: Effective Decoding and Spelling Instruction,” is considered a key text for teachers seeking a systematized, effective method of reading and spelling instruction and focuses on morphemic awareness, letter-sound correspondences and syllable patterns.

The workshop will cover morphology: the study of the structure and forms of words. Dr. Henry will present frameworks for instruction along with numerous instructional strategies and activities. She’ll also cover the history and structure of written English. This presentation will give teachers instructional strategies and activities for use in the classroom or in a tutorial setting.

Cost: $160, with lunch provided. Lodging is available at an additional cost.
